NBR Yoga Mat Manufacturer
HTS YOGA manufactures ready-stock and custom NBR yoga mats for brands, retailers, distributors, gyms, and fitness programs. NBR foam constructions are available in multiple thicknesses, densities, colors, logos, and packaging formats for private-label, wholesale, bulk, and OEM programs.
NBR Foam Mats for Cushioned Yoga and Exercise
NBR, or nitrile butadiene rubber, is commonly used as a lightweight foam material for thick yoga mats, exercise mats, fitness mats, and other floor-training products. Its foam structure allows greater cushioning without the finished weight associated with many dense rubber constructions.
Thickness and foam density work together to determine how an NBR mat feels. Softer foam emphasizes cushioning, while higher-density constructions can provide firmer support, better compression recovery, and a more substantial product feel.
Within our broader Yoga Mats range, NBR is primarily positioned for thicker, cushioning-focused products used across yoga, exercise, fitness, Pilates, and floor-training collections.

Ready-Stock and Custom NBR Yoga Mats
Ready-stock NBR yoga mats are available for sampling and smaller-volume purchasing, while custom production supports different thicknesses, foam densities, colors, logos, edge treatments, and packaging.

Stock colors, quantities, packaging, and dispatch schedules depend on current inventory. For custom NBR yoga mats, dimensions, foam density, thickness tolerance, color, artwork, packaging, and production requirements are confirmed before sampling.
Wholesale and bulk NBR mat programs can be developed around one standard specification or several coordinated thickness and color options.
NBR Yoga Mat Thickness Options
Thickness is one of the main specification variables for an NBR yoga mat. Greater thickness generally increases floor cushioning but also affects finished weight, rolled diameter, storage space, carton configuration, and freight efficiency.
Foam density should therefore be evaluated together with thickness. A higher-density construction can feel firmer than softer foam at the same nominal thickness.
Our Size & Thickness customization service can be used to review dimensions, density, finished weight, rolled diameter, tolerances, and packaging requirements as one specification.
Thickness | Product Positioning | Typical Applications |
|---|---|---|
6–7 mm | Lightweight cushioning | General exercise and entry-level programs |
8–10 mm | Balanced cushioning and support | Yoga, fitness, stretching and Pilates |
12 mm | Extra-cushion construction | Floor exercise and wellness programs |
15 mm | Maximum cushioning within our standard range | Pilates, stretching and controlled floor training |
6–7 mm NBR Yoga Mats
The 6 mm and 7 mm options reduce finished weight and rolled diameter, making the mats easier to handle, store, and pack than thicker NBR constructions.
8–10 mm NBR Yoga Mats
The 8–10 mm range provides a practical balance between cushioning, finished size, storage, and packaging efficiency. Our standard ready-stock NBR yoga mat is 183 × 61 cm × 10 mm.
12–15 mm NBR Yoga Mats
The 12 mm and 15 mm options provide greater foam thickness and a larger rolled profile. Individual packaging, carton quantities, storage space, and shipping efficiency should therefore be reviewed before confirming the final specification.

Cushioning and NBR Foam Density
NBR foam is particularly suited to mats positioned around softness and floor cushioning. Its foam structure creates a padded surface for floor-based movement and exercise.
Different densities produce different product characteristics. Softer NBR foam provides a more cushioned feel, while higher-density foam generally offers firmer support, better shape retention, and stronger compression recovery.
For custom NBR foam mats, development can consider:
- Foam density and hardness
- Compression and recovery
- Thickness consistency
- Finished mat weight
- Surface feel
- Rolling and storage behavior
A thicker mat is not automatically a better mat. Thickness, density, stability, finished weight, and intended use should be balanced together to create the required product feel.
Surface Texture and Grip
NBR yoga mats can be produced with ribbed lines, waves, dots, crosshatch patterns, and geometric textures. Different patterns may be used on the upper and lower surfaces to balance dry traction, floor contact, appearance, and available branding space.
Texture depth and foam density also influence how the finished NBR foam mat feels under the hands and feet. Available pattern and Pantone color directions can be reviewed through our Surface Textures & Colors service.
NBR is primarily a cushioning-focused material rather than a specialist wet-grip construction. For hot yoga or moisture-intensive applications, buyers may also compare PU Yoga Mats or Rubber Yoga Mats where stronger traction is a higher priority.

Custom NBR Yoga Mats and Private-Label Options
Custom NBR yoga mats can be developed for fitness brands, distributors, gyms, retailers, e-commerce programs, promotional projects, and other private-label applications.
Custom Colors
NBR foam can be produced in standard factory colors or developed against Pantone references. Physical samples are recommended for final approval because foam formulation and production conditions can influence the finished color.
Custom Logo NBR Yoga Mats
Silk-screen printing is the standard branding method for custom NBR yoga mats. Logo size, placement, print color, and orientation are confirmed during sampling.
Simple graphics and clearly defined artwork generally reproduce more consistently on textured foam surfaces. Artwork preparation and positioning can be coordinated through Logo & Printing.
Edge Finishing
Straight-cut edges are standard for many NBR mats. Fabric-bound edges can also be developed when a project requires a more finished appearance, contrasting brand color, or additional edge coverage.
Private-Label Packaging
Packaging options include film wrapping, paper bands, carrying straps, mesh or fabric bags, retail sleeves, boxes, and export cartons.
Labels, barcodes, shipping marks, carton quantities, and retail presentation can be coordinated through Packaging & Labeling after the mat dimensions and rolled diameter are confirmed.

NBR Exercise Mats for Fitness and Floor Training
The thicker foam structure of NBR allows the material to serve both yoga and broader exercise categories. NBR exercise mats and NBR fitness mats are commonly selected where cushioning and manageable finished weight are important.
NBR Pilates Mats
NBR can be used for private-label Pilates mats designed for stretching, core work, and controlled floor movements. Thicknesses from 8–15 mm provide several cushioning levels within the same material platform.
For Pilates-focused products, foam density and thickness should be selected together rather than specifying thickness alone.
Home Exercise and Fitness Mats
NBR foam works well for home exercise mats used for stretching, bodyweight routines, beginner fitness, and general floor workouts.
For thicker formats, rolled diameter and storage requirements should be considered early because they influence packaging and e-commerce shipping efficiency.
Gym and Wellness Programs
Higher-density NBR exercise mats can be developed for gyms, hotels, fitness centers, corporate wellness programs, and multipurpose exercise rooms.
For repeated commercial use, foam density, compression recovery, edge durability, cleaning requirements, rolling frequency, and storage conditions should be considered alongside thickness.

Quality Control for NBR Foam Mats
NBR yoga mats and exercise mats are inspected against the approved specification and reference sample during production.
Checks can include:
- Foam uniformity and density
- Color and surface consistency
- Length, width, and multi-point thickness
- Compression recovery
- Edge finishing
- Logo position and print adhesion
- Packaging and carton condition
The approved sample, artwork, color reference, and specification sheet remain the production reference for bulk manufacturing and repeat orders. Project-specific inspection requirements can be coordinated through Quality & Testing.
Third-party testing and supporting documents can be arranged according to the selected formulation, finished specification, target market, and buyer requirements. Available documentation can be reviewed through Certifications & Documentation.

NBR Compared with Other Yoga Mat Materials
NBR occupies a different position from thinner or denser yoga mat constructions. Its primary strengths are foam cushioning, thicker specifications, and relatively manageable finished weight.
An NBR foam yoga mat is most suitable when softness, cushioning, and additional thickness are central product requirements.
For collections requiring lighter mainstream constructions, buyers can compare TPE Yoga Mats. NBR is generally less suitable for thin travel mats, firm balance-focused products, or moisture-intensive hot yoga applications.
Material | Main Strength | Typical Feel | Common Positioning |
|---|---|---|---|
NBR Foam | Thick cushioning | Soft and padded | Exercise, Pilates, stretching and home fitness |
TPE | Comfort and portability | Moderately soft | General yoga and mainstream retail |
Natural Rubber | Grip and stability | Dense and supportive | Studio and performance-focused yoga |
PU Composite | Strong hand traction | Smooth and responsive | Premium and hot yoga |
